/ YOUR STYLE

BuILT FOR YOU.

The ESQ custom suit experience allows every Chicago man to create a garment that is truly a personification of each individual’s character and taste. ESQ President and Creative Director Ge Wang describes this process of personalization, “It’s our job at ESQ to express each man’s personal style though every custom suit, from a traditional English power suit to a relaxed Sprezzatura sport coat typically reserved for the Amalfi Coast, it’s our job to ensure that everything is built around our client and his unique taste.”

Whether you’re looking for a formal tuxedo or refined leisure wear, an ESQ tailor will guide you through each detail. And together, you will make each garment your own.

“Throughout each fitting, I try to let my clients choose every detail for themselves, only lending a word when my expertise deems something that won’t work. What’s the occasion? What’s your heat tolerance? English or Italian? These are questions beyond the usual ‘type of lapel’ or ‘button stance;’ knowing this will help us create a garment that truly fits what you’re looking for.”

And in terms of details, everything can be customized. We’re here to create not just an exceptional garment, but also one that is specifically built for you.

Your fit is the perfect fit.

Shoulders and sleeves are crucial to a jacket fitting well. In most custom suits, the seam between the sleeve and body is determined by measurements spit into a computer. “This step is extremely difficult and only a true master tailor knows how to properly align this part of the jacket,” says Wang, “if a jacket shoulder looks improper on a hanger, how could it possibly look perfect on a man?”

Each ESQ suit must have the perfect fit, and this may vary drastically from one client to the next. Perfect fit does not simply mean “slim” fit, it means that each part of the garment drapes and hugs you the way you desire. Your suit should be your second skin, whether you want it a little looser or tighter is up to you.
